CHALLENGE:
When Supercell decided to bring Brawl Stars to San Diego Comic-Con 2025, they weren’t just showing up — they were building an actual Starr Park on a barge. Our assignment? Make sure the chaos took over all of San Diego and made it out to fans around the world, in a way only Brawl could: loud, wild, irreverent, and unmistakably Spike.

AGENCY:
Unobtanium
SOLUTION:
We achieved maximun chaos with the following touchpoints:
Transit Takeover: Every two hours, a fully wrapped Brawl Stars trolley sliced through the Gaslamp District, a roving billboard for Spike’s chaos.
Audience Participation: Con-goers were invited to give Spike an assist — hurling cactus-shaped paint grenades at our big Starr Park billboard, leaving with “bottled tears” from our operational crying fountain.
Spike(s) on the Street: Five life-sized Spike mascots and their “Spike Squads” roamed the Con, stirring trouble and delight. Head shaving, face painting, trivia battles, and Feastables-fueled mayhem were all rewarded with swag, in-game loot, and ultra-rare Gold Spray Pins that fast-tracked fans to the front of line for the Starr Park barge.
Real-Time Content Crews: Two embedded video crews captured everything inside and outside the park, feeding a constant stream of made-for-social content that reached fans at the con — and millions more around the world.
